A planning application is being brought forward by the Education Authority for a new post-primary school on lands at Three Mile Water Playing Fields, Doagh Road, Newtownabbey, BT37 9PA.

Proposals include the erection of a post-primary school, ancillary accommodation and sports facilities with associated hard and soft play areas, parking, landscaping, site works and access arrangement from Doagh Road.

A modern purpose-built education facility, with classrooms to support c.820 pupils. The plans contain a dedicated parents drop-off and pick-up area and bus set-down area and staff parking onsite.

The sports facilities will include five tennis courts, three grass pitches and one synthetic sports pitch.

Proposals for a new youth centre are also being prepared to be located alongside new pitches, this will be subject to a separate business case and planning application process.

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council are also keen to include other works within the proposals, however this will also be subject to a separate business case and planning application through the Council.
